Haibin Di received the B.E. degree in applied geophysics from Ocean University of China, Qingdao, China, in 2008, the M.S. degree in seismology from Institute of Geophysics, China Earthquake Administration, Beijing, China, in 2011, and the Ph.D. degree in geology from West Virginia University (WVU), Morgantown, WV, USA, in 2016.
From 2016-2018, he was a Postdoc Research Fellow at Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, GA, USA. In June 2018, he joined Schlumberger, Houston, as a Senior Data Scientist. He is the author of 1 book chapter, over 50 articles and proceedings and holds 4 patents. His research interests focus on the applications of machine learning in applied geophysics, particularly seismic interpretation and reservoir characterization. He was an Assistant Editor of the special issue “Machine learning in seismic data analysis” in the journal Interpretation in 2019.
